High Pressure Rupture Discs

High Pressure Rupture Disks

US Jetting High Pressure Rupture Disks are engineered and manufactured to prevent pump system over pressurization. Disks are color coded for individual pressure rupture settings. Never should a substitute or metal disk be used as a replacement since equipment damage or personal injury can occur.

Installation of pressure disks should always be flat side of the disk out or visible within the disk holder. Pictured below on the left is the correct method of rupture disk installation. Picture below on the right is the incorrect method of rupture disk installation.

Pressure Rupture Disks can be used in lieu of automatic resetting pressure relief valves. Pressure Rupture Disks "blow" or rupture when over-pressurization of the system occurs. This is an indicator to the operator of a system malfunction that needs to be addressed. For example, a partially clogged nozzle can go unnoticed by the operator on a system with an automatic pressure relief valve since excess pressurized water is returned to the water tank.

Pressure Rupture Disks should be located near the high pressure discharge port of the pump. The high pressure rupture disk holder should always be pointed in a downward position, towards the ground as an additional safety precaution.
