Applications
High pressure water jetting has many typical applications but also many more unique or diverse uses. Commonly used for pipe cleaning applications such as sewers and drains, high pressure jetting is also used for surface cleaning, water blasting and waterjet cutting. US Jetting has a broad range of high pressure jetting units, nozzles, guns and accessories to handle any type of situation. Not only does US Jetting have the hardware for problem resolution, training and technical expertise is also availble.
Root Problems: High pressure jetting is the most commom method used to remove root infiltration growth within sewer lines that routinely cause blockages. High pressure water at 4,000 PSI with the proper nozzle cuts roots close to the pipe wall surface, then flushes the residue downstream.
:

Grease Problems: Restaurants and food processors have always had to contend with clogged sewer and drains. Grease residue forms on the pipe walls literally choking the inside of the pipe until the pipe is totally blocked. Unlike electric snake or cable machines, high pressure water jetting not only opens the blockages but removes grease buildup on pipe wall surfaces. In thick, sludge-type grease blockages, high pressure jetting liquifies the sludge for easy removal from the pipe when cable - snakes would merely pass through the sludge. Most restaurants and food processors recognise the value of high pressure jetting with most subscibing to routine maintenance cleanings in order to prevent costly downtime from blockages.

Grease not only accumulates in main sanitary sewer lines, it can also be found in building pipelines and connecting laterals. Buildings with grease traps require the lines entering the grease traps to be routinely cleaned to prevent blockages. Grease traps are never 100% effective in grease collection, therefore outflow lines from grease traps should be cleaned periodically. Cleaning grease lines in commercial kitchens (restuarants, hospitals, cafeterias) require small diameter high pressure jetting hoses that are better able to negioate 2 to 6" diameter pipelines commonly found with multiple elbows or traps. Many companies perform high pressure jetting services under preventative maintenance contracts to eliminate possible blockages among businesses that produce grease by-products.

Storm Drain Cleaning: Commercial buildings with parking lots normally contain storm drains for rainwater control. In most cases, roof drains and gutters also connect to strom drain systems for the prevention of flooding. Piping used for storm drains can vary from 4 to 24 inches in diameter. The US Jetting 4018 has the performance to complete the cleaning task.

Large diameter pipe cleaning with a US Jetting 4018 - 4000 PSI @ 18 GPM: Is it possible to clean large diameter pipes with a high pressure low volume jetting unit? The answer is yes if you have the right nozzle for the job. The example below is a road culvert filled with dirt and rocks. This was 60 ft long - 24 inch pipe that was cleaned using the US Jetting Dragon Jet. This nozzle is specially designed to fire all the jets at the bottom of the pipe. Two straight jets to remove the heavy material and two fan jets sweep the pipe invert combine to do an excellent job.

Process pipes with hard lime scale: Many manufacturing methods result in the accumulation of by-products on process pipe wall surfaces. High pressure water jetting cannot only remove blocakages but also accumulated material buildup. In many cases, production can be increased by merely cleaning existing process pipe systems.

Water Mains: Hard mineral scale buildup can occur in potable water mains, both in the delivery systems and water treatment plants. High pressure jetting is the best method to remove scale and restore pipes to full flow capacity.

Out-Of-The-Way Service Calls: Demand for high pressure jetting services doesn't stop at the water's edge. US Jetting units can be found cleaning pipes on oil and gas rigs and ships at sea.

Process Pipeline Cleaning: These cement slurry lines located 45' above the ground were easily cleaned with 4000 PSI at 18 GPM unit. The versatility of lightweight 1/2" hose allowed for easier and faster work completion.

Fiber Optic Conduit Cleaning & Pull Line Threading: Newly installed fiber optic conduit must be cleaned before the fiber optic cables can be installed. As part of the cleaning process, primary pull lines are threaded from conduit pullbox to conduit pull-box for future cable installation. In this case, a US Jetting 4025 - 600 gallon unit with 1,000' reel capacity was used to clean and thread conduit lines. Some conduit lines were installed in 1000 foot increments between acess pull-boxes employing the Jump Jet System these long distances were easily overcome.
